Collage Crazy

William Shakespeare once wrote, "Can one desire too much of a good thing?" My answer: absolutely not.

A wall collage can create strong emphasis in a space. Here are a few tips and suggestions when trying to create this look:

1) Don't be afraid to go "outside the box." In other words, don't feel bound to a square or rectangular space - although this can be good too (as first photo above shows). Creating an asymmetrical design with your collage can create drama.

2) Select an item and build around it. This may be your largest or favorite one!

3) When building around your central piece, work in a circular pattern until you've reached your goal.

4) Mix it up! You don't always have to stick to similar items and pieces. Try using different frames, artwork, items and colors within your collage.

Good luck, and most importantly, have fun!

  2. I love a great gallery wall too! Is that last photo designer Mary McDonald's office? So simple and chic. Thanks for the inspirations!
