As Promised...Nursery Pics!

Well, as promised, I am FINALLY posting pictures of Brennan's nursery - almost a year later...oops! My, how times flies! For her nursery, I used a variety of fabrics for the crib bedding, upholstery and draperies but stayed fairly neutral in color with pops of a very pale pink. I have given details below each picture. It was a fun project that, unfortunately, wasn't totally complete until after the babe was here. Thank you, bedrest! The room completion was worth the wait, though. It is a special place in our home. I love it!

A Precious Moments Valentine

What a wonderful Valentine's Day it was for me! A quiet night at home spending precious moments with my family while watching The Bachelor (gotta' love On Demand TV) and eating sushi. How could it get any better?? Not to mention, the homemade petit fours I brought home from work that satisfied my sweet tooth - yum!
I am so blessed to have a wonderful husband, a vibrant little girl that steals my heart each and every day and family and friends that always there for me . I love you all!!

On to another "happy" note...On Monday, Brennan and I delivered our Valentine happies to her Mother's Morning Out class. We went with a "strawberry" theme with a strawberry grow kit and strawberry craft kit for her little friends, and strawberry preserves for the teachers. My talented sister, Joanna (owner of Unink Design LLC - on facebook and has a blog) designed fabulous tags for us. Here are a few pics.

A Valentine Classic

Happy Valentine's Day! Here's an ode to one of my favorite classic pieces. Upholstered in red, it says 'LOVE' like no other.

The Dynamic Duo: Yellow & Gray

On this rainy Friday in Jackson, I want to post about a space that's bound to brighten any day. I am sure that many of you have probably already "ooh-ed" and "aah-ed" over this fabulous kitchen and breakfast nook on the cover of the February 2012 House Beautiful issue. Of course with yellow being my favorite color, I'm immediately captivated by it, but putting my personal color bias aside...the space really is a major success featuring the dynamic duo of 2012: yellow and gray. The combination of grays and whites with a punch of yellow, the flirty "aztec" print fabric and the geometric flooring all make for one dynamite space! Love!

Happy Friday!

"Lilly" Sweet

Fresh Flowers + Out of the Blue = Sweetest Husband Award!

I was so surprised when I received a beautiful delivery on Wednesday afternoon. The reason you ask...there was none. Collin just said he had not sent me any in a while and wanted to surprise me. Very thoughtful! There is not much more that can brighten a day like fresh flowers. And I must point out that the lilly was the most gorgeous I have seen in a while...absolutely stunning.

Now that is a really, "lilly" sweet delivery! Thanks, Collin. I love you.

Gold Digger

You guessed it...I'm digging gold this season! I recently purchased a new high chair from Bloom Baby (see pic below) for my little girl and opted to go with the white frame and gold metallic seat pad and straps. Being that I have so many gold accents in my home, I thought it would be a fun color combination...especially since it is the new "centerpiece" of the breakfast room :)

Gold is no longer a trend but rather a classic that will never go away. It is seen in furniture, accessories, art and fabrics, just to name a few, and can stand a very traditional setting or slightly more flashy and contemporary surrounding. I personally love its versatility. Do you?

Below are some gold pieces that I find very inspiring...some a little more outrageous than others...but all very fascinating.

Have a golden day!

2012: New Beginnings

Well, well, where do I begin?! A embarassing as it is to admit, it has been nearly a year since I created a new blog post. Now that 2012 is here and life has settled down a bit, I've decided to get back to blogging!! However, because being a mom and wife is now my number one priority, I am going to limit my postings. I'll try to get one posted at least once a week...that's my goal! I've seen so many wonderful things lately and have had some projects this past year that I want to share. I enjoy my time blogging and have made many good friendships through this crazy world of internet. Most importantly, I can't think of a better way to keep a journal of ALL things I love (from family & friends to what inspired this site to begin with...design!) So, here's to 2012 and the excitement it will bring. I'm back!

To bring you up to speed, I have posted our 2011 Christmas card featuring the love of my life...Brennan. She is now over 10 months old!

Dear Time,
Please slow down.

Catching Your Zs...

So what have I been doing for the last 6 weeks?!? Catching some Zs, mostly...Yes, I know it has been a while since I have updated my blog! I can't believe I have been such a slacker when it comes to my site, but in my defense, a lot has been going on. At the end of January, I was put on bedrest after spending some time in the hospital for preterm labor symptoms. You would think that I would have been blogging more since I have been holed up in the bed at home, but with all of the visitors and the number of TV shows coming on daily (ha!), I just didn't find the energy to get on the computer too much. Anyway, on the brighter side, I am feeling much better and am ready to step back into my world of blogging. Baby girl and I are doing great, and we expect her arrival in the next couple of weeks!! Collin and I are super excited about parenthood and continue to pray for a healthy baby and safe delivery. I'll keep everyone updated...nursery pics will come soon too. Of course, being on bedrest, I haven't been able to get out and about to finish the last-minute details of the room, but I promise to post soon with final photos.

For now, though, let's talk design! As I've been lying in bed for the past weeks, my bed has become my best friend - really. I have found a new passion for this amazing piece of furniture, and after doing some research on the different types of beds and bedrooms, I have posted some of my favorites below.
