Welcome to the Neighborhood

We recently had some new neighbors move in across the street. I wanted to welcome them to the neighborhood so I decided to bake them one of my favorites - fresh banana bread. I actually recently posted about this fabulous recipe from The Cake Doctor cookbook- check that post out here. Last night, I whipped up a few loaves of this yummy treat (I had to make some for me and Collin too!) and spent some time this morning wrapping it for delivery. And if I haven't told you before, I love to wrap! It's so much fun and is such a great way to express your own personality.

I hope our new neighbors enjoy the bread as much as we do. One of my favorite things to do is give a "happy" when someone least expects it and to put a smile on their face.

How do you like to welcome new neighbors? Is there a certain recipe or sweet that you like to make for special occassions?

Oh, and it's Friday!! Be excited!!

  1. This is great...I have really been thinking about meeting my new neighbors but just haven't...I'm honestly a little scared to! hahaha. I need to just do it, and the relationships are always great that come out of it (well, usually anyway). This is a great idea too! I love the wrapping on it.

I think you may have just pushed me out of the boat and got me thinking about "brotherly love" :) Maybe i'll go say hi to them next week..thanks for the encouragement!

  2. Love the wrap! I have always been a bit shy to welcome a new neighbor when they first arrive, but this year I did make homemade cocoa and marshmallows for neighbor Christmas treats.

  5. The funny thing is, I don't have any new neighbors. We moved into our cul de sac 6 years ago and it's the same bunch here since then. I do have an elderly neighbor who loves my Christmas fudge so I try to make her a few batches throughout the year, you've reminded me it's been a while, should make her some today.

  6. This is so perfect and thoughtful. I would make the same, or possibly chocolate chip cookies, but never would have thought to wrap them like you did. Love that!!
