Got a Ticket to Ride...(Subway Style)

Ever wonder where subway tile originated from? I certainly do, and being a BIG fan of this product, I decided to do a little research and here is what I found...

Subway tile was first used in 1904 when the New York City Subway System opened. The tile was white, rectangular in shape and chosen for its durability and smooth surface which was easy to clean. Not only did this tile protect the walls and floors of the subway systems, but it created a beautiful mosaic in the undergrounds and people really took notice! Today, "subway tile" is even more durable, and manufacturers have increased the size and now offer a wide range of colors. Pretty cool, huh?

So without further ado, here's the good stuff!

Why should I choose subway tile, you ask?
• Subway tiles are easy to clean
• Subway tile does not require any special polishing or buffing to maintain its clean finish
• Subway tile will provide your home with a classic look that will last over time
• Subway tile will provide you with a designer look without the designer price tag

What's not to love?!
